Now self-ligating technology is available in an aesthetic, semi-translucent bracket. The Oyster bracket is made from a strong, fiberglass reinforced composite polymer that resists discoloring. The unique snap-on cap allows arch wires to be placed and changed in a fraction of the time normally required for traditional ligation; and without the steel or elastomeric ties, the arch wire moves freely for faster sliding mechanics when you need it. The absence of traditional ligatures also enhances oral health and hygiene.

The patented cap is easily opened with a TN3 instrument, and it is closed with a touch of a finger. Since the cap is convertible, it can be removed, if necessary, and the bracket will function as a regular twin. Oyster has a mechanical lock base and an easy to use bracket identification system; and cuspids have a distal “T” hook for treatment versatility.
